The HP 8753D RF network analyzer provides an unparalleled combination of speed, performance and ease of use in order to meet the testing needs of research laboratories or manufacturing. With its integrated S-parameter test device covering the frequency range of 3 or 6GHz, the dynamic range up to 110dB, and frequency scanning and power scanning, the 8753D provides linear and non-linear characteristics for characterizing active or passive networks, components and subsystems. A satisfactory solution. The new microprocessor used enables measurement and data transfer rates up to 7 times faster than previous models. The network analyzer is characterized by 2 independent measurement channels, which can measure and display all 4 S parameters at the same time.
You can choose to display any combination of reflection and transmission parameters in amplitude, phase, group delay, Smith chart, polar coordinates, standing wave ratio, or time domain format. Easy-to-use dedicated function keys provide quick access to various measurement functions. You can use up to 4 scale grids to observe the measurement results in the form of overlapping or separate screens on a high-resolution LCD color display. In order to drive a larger external monitor for easy observation, an output compatible with VGA has been added.
Better versatility and performance An integrated synthesis source provides an output power of up to 10mW (up to 100mW with option 011), 1Hz frequency resolution and linear frequency, logarithmic frequency, list frequency, CW and power sweep Function. Three tuned receivers can perform independent power measurement or simultaneous ratio measurement within a wide dynamic range of 105dB at 6GHz (with option 006 frequency extension) or 110dB at 3GHz (standard). The integrated test device can measure the transmission and reflection characteristics of devices up to 6GHz without using a frequency multiplier.
For convenient and accurate measurement in non-coaxial systems, TRL*/LRM*1 calibration is provided. Using the built-in adapter to remove the calibration technology, high-precision measurement of non-insertable devices can also be achieved. The high-stability frequency reference (option 1D5) improves the frequency measurement accuracy of high-Q devices, such as surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices, crystal resonators or dielectric resonator filters. In order to improve the flexibility of configuration, Option 011 cancels the built-in test device so that you can choose the test device you need.

HP 8753D option 011 can be used in conjunction with HP85046A/B and 85047A S parameter test devices and special test devices for other special applications. The new option for automatic production can delete the internal display and reduce the cost of the instrument (option 1DT). Improved production efficiency The test sequence function allows one-time typing to quickly and repeatedly perform complex tasks. In the sequential working mode, only one measurement from the panel is required, and the analyzer can store the input, so that no additional programming is required. You can also use the test sequence to control external devices via the parallel or HP-IB port. Other productivity features include a built-in floppy disk drive that supports LIF and DOS formats, non-volatile memory, serial and parallel interfaces, DIN keyboard interface, and a real-time clock that provides time recording for printouts and files. Also includes limit test, arbitrary frequency test and mark tracking function. By using the list scan mode to select the special frequency to be tested and setting independent intermediate frequency bandwidth and power level in each frequency range, the measurement time can be shortened. Sectional calibration and interpolation error correction can improve the vector accuracy of a certain section of the calibrated frequency range of the analyzer. Non-linear device testing In order to perform a more advanced characterization of the device, Option 002 adds a harmonic measurement function. The sweep second and total harmonic levels of the amplifier can be displayed directly or as a number relative to the fundamental wave. With the push of a button, harmonics up to -40 can be measured. Power meter calibration provides constant power to devices that are sensitive to input or output levels.

HP 8753D automatically controls 436A, 437B, 438A, EPM-441A or EPM-442A power meters, so that the power anywhere in the test system is adjusted to the accuracy of the power meter, or the network analyzer receiver is calibrated for Accurate power measurement. In order to measure mixers, tuners and other frequency conversion devices, the frequency offset mode of operation allows the network analyzer to be tuned independently of the receiver. The analyzer can easily complete the measurement of conversion loss, phase, group delay, and mixer tuning by means of fixed IF or sweep IF testing. Time domain analysis Use option 010 to observe the reflection or transmission response in the time domain. The analyzer calculates the inverse fast Fourier transform of the frequency domain data to show the relationship between the reflection coefficient or the transmission coefficient over time. Two time-domain analysis methods can observe the step response or impulse response of the device. Timing gating can be used to remove some undesired responses, such as connector mismatch, and the gating results can be displayed in the time domain or frequency. 1TRL* and LRM* are three sampler implementation methods of straight-through-reflection-transmission line and transmission line-reflection-matching calibration technology. Summary of technical indicators Test device The integrated S-parameter test device provides complete forward and reverse measurements with 50Ω (standard) or 75Ω (option 075).
